Calls with Jason

I’m in Nashville to make calls with Jason. A clinic wants to meet with us and hear about PIDD from a patient, as well as what BioRx can do for them.   I had my suitcase all packed with some very nice biz clothes- but I’m in Nashville, and my suitcase is still at the airport in Mpls.  Won’t I make a good impression in my wrinkled jeans and walking shoes tomorrow?

As a PIDD patient, I already know that this is the least of my worries.

We overcome obstacles far worse than this everyday.

Tool Kit

One of the suggestions from a session in St. Louis was to Google IVIG Tool Kit.  There are several links to information about PIDD- or just follow this link:

BioRx Trade Show Booth at the IDF Conference

They are a great bunch.

Aaron on the right, Sabrena in the middle, and Jason to the back left helping a patient.

They are incredibly helpful to PIDD patients.  They help us find solutions to many of our healthcare dilemmas.

Call them.

Do you know what this picture proves??

I NEED A NEW CAMERA!!

Maybe everyone can pitch in and buy me one.

The BioRx booth was really great looking - but you would never know if from this picture would you?

Sorry about that.

Pictures from the IDF CONFERENCE

Hey, it’s Beth, Pam and Tim at the regional luncheon during the IDF Conference.

You see their posts on the Yahoo PID web-site all of the time.

They are just as much fun in person as they are on the site.

Happy and doing a very good job imitating healthy people.

I’ve made you wait long enough to see what Jordan looks like.  I could not walk past him without hugging him.  His personality comes out in his posts - and you can also see it from a distance in person.

Oh Yeah, the guy to Jordan’s left- that’s his Dad, Mark.

They were quite the duo in St. Louis.

I ran into them over and over.  They attended many sessions and made the rounds to the trade show booths, spreading good cheer everywhere they went.

Almost ready for pics of Conference

It looks like I’ll be able to share some pics with you by tomorrow.

Our web-site is still evolving (under construction)!

Please check back then. It’s taken me quite a while to recover from this conference. I spent quite a bit of time ‘imitating a healthy person’ while there, and that was really fun.

I’m off to have an SI injection this afternoon, OWIE.

Tomorrow, I’ll be a new woman.

Living with PIDD is not without challenges. Having great doctors, the right amount of IgG therapy, and family and friends who care makes all of the difference in the world. It doesn’t hurt to have a very positive attitude as well. Working a bit of exercise in everyday is also very helpful.

When all else fails, strong pain pills and a good book usually do the trick.

Tomorrow, you will see some of the great people I met in St Louis- they were an inspiration to me as well as to many other PIDD patients.

IDF Conference update

I’m home from the conference, as I’m sure most of the attendees are.

I cannot believe how many patients were there.  (I think I heard 1200)! The booths were always busy.  Could it be because they were giving away ice cream, kites, beach bags, X-boxes, visors, or because they had valuable information for the patients?  I attended several sessions and found them to be very valuable and eye opening - maybe a little too eye opening!  The evening events were plenty of fun as well.  I’m excited that we will be playing with Minnie and Mickey in 2 years.  I have pics that I will upload later today for you to see.

Right now, I’m nursing a sore throat - someone must have been carrying some bug at the conference cuz I have heard of several people going down with something this week.

Hope everyone has a fun 4th of July - HOORAY 4th of JULY!

Keep watch here for the pics, as well as for patient stories.
